HALLELUJAH!

The whole earth falls to its knees
At the sound of Your beautiful name
And all the voices in the world unify today
to bring You this song of praise

i love my church.

little henrys innocence inspires me
he sits on a chair spinning around outside the august outreach committee meeting, longing to join us in talking. he is outspoken and always hungry. he jumps at the sight of food. we had progressive dinner on friday. my house was the "appetizer" house. my parents graciously prepared an assortment of food including chinese buns, barbequed hot dogs, and the ever popular curried fish balls. i was being tight and only giving 3 away to people hahahah. but people like chris ate like 10!! after everyone left i ate 23 and left also hahaha.
but henry! he is so cool. before his car leaves, he runs up to the table and grabs two more chinese buns and runs off lol.

shelby is a rock.
"but if we have faith to respond to God's call and to take on "God-sized" tasks, then we are stretched and blessed in our faith, and first hand given witness to the greatness of the Lord as well and demonstrating to others the power of our God."
and this is talking about the tent we're going to rent for outdoor praise night! holy hahahah
she told me this sunday that i inspire her. but lies, she is the one that inspires.
hi shelby.

the congregation was rocking this sunday.
the all star worship team assembled. people jumping onto the same page
new drum equipment. i stand to the side at service for a reason (so i can see everyone else also)
i guess you can say worshipping lies in the hearts of the people. but i dream that we could, for just one day all sing at the top of our lungs. how amazing would that be.

wow. what a change of scenery from the last blog post.
was that just me or was that the church PMS-ing.
august outreach just around the corner. lets do it!

dru, get up. go make some calls.
- ok chris.
its not chris
- huh? then who is it?
i think you know who it is :)

i leave you with one of my favourite worship songs/hymns:

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

barf.

i dont understand it.

why was church so dead yesterday? hold up. let me rephrase
why has church been so dead lately? even with august outreach looming ahead?

maybe we, as an english ministry have had it so good for the past 6 years that we really need to hit the wall before we realize that we have a great church and that its worth working for, serving at. The more God seems works in our church, the further we seem to slip away. Maybe we need to endure some hard times before we can shape up.

i have a theory about church. its so sad but i think its so true.
people use church for selfish reasons.
God? no.
its not enough.

why isn't it enough? the Holy Spirit alone should fill us.

ambitious real estate agents, doctors, lawyers, and professionals
can so easily put on a face and use the church.
okay so we're all gona get homes soontime. who are we gona go to?
someone at church right?
we get into trouble with the law, car accidents, whatever. who are we gona go to?
someone at church right?
get sick? need car help? need WHATEVER
its so bs. ofcourse no one says it but i think faith fails many times

people have seemed to all become complacent and lifeless.
people falling away.
people generally not caring anymore.
people encouraging stupidness.

makes me sick to my stomach, seeing people go through
things that they dont need to; making pathetic examples of themselves.

maybe we're just not mature in our faith. maybe we have no faith
maybe we want to have all the fun before we become serious

but no,
I can't say these things right?
how can I point out the splinter in my friends' eyes when there are planks in my own eyes?

I don't know how else to put it,
other than I feel useless if I don't say anything
and I feel like I'm judging too much if I do.

gona go barf now. afk

zing!

Cool Listenings...
Sister Act 2 - Joyful, joyful
Karl Wolf (feat. Choclair) - Desensatize
(Remix)
Pearl Jam - Where oh where...

Put Your Records On - Corinne Bailey Rae

Three little birds, sat on my window.
And they told me I don't need to worry.
Summer came like cinnamon
So sweet,
Little girls double-dutch on the concrete.

Maybe sometimes, we got it wrong,
but it's alright
The more things seem to change, the more they stay the same
Oh, don't you hesitate.

Girl, put your records on,
tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans,
I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.

Blue as the sky, sombre and lonely,
Sipping tea in the bar by the road side,
(just relax, just relax)
Don't you let those other boys fool you,
Gotta love that afro hairdo.

Maybe sometimes, we feel afraid,
but it's alright
The more you stay the same, the more we seem to change
Oh, don't you think its strange?

Girl, put your records on,
tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans,
I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.

Just more than I could take,
pity for pity's sake
Some nights kept me awake,
I thought that I was stronger
When you gonna realise,
that you don't even have to try any longer.
Do what you want to.

Girl, put your records on,
tell me your favourite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans,
I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

Oh, You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow

top 15 movies of dru's time.

please don't flame me!
cause i love these movies

honourable mentions: love actually, moulin rouge

15. The Matrix - keanu was sick. connection was sick. the lobby scene was real sick.

14. Pearl Harbor - come on. josh hartnett and ben affleck flying planes? jenn garner AND my kate tending to their wounds? enough said

13. Star Wars : The Phantom Menace - Darth Maul coolest villain ever. natalie portman making her entry into my life! the light saber scene with qui-gon and young obi-wan kenobi dannngg.

12. Underworld 1 and 2 - just love the concept and ofcourse kate beckinsale in leather doesn't hurt. im into that whole oh-so-powerful overlord dealie

11. Face Off /The Rock- i love nick cage and john travolta. who is who!! who is the bad guy!! who knows? and in the rock with sean connery. shooting guns, explosions, car chases, jailtime, OPA!

10. The Last Samurai - i didn't think i'd like this movie, but tbh i loved it (except for the fact that the last samurai turns out to be the white guy!). Woulda liked to see more of the ninjas, though.

9. 007 James Bond: world is not enough, die another day - im so into that espionnage crap! with cool gadgets and nice cars/women and ofcourse, sneaking around with one gun and a black/white suit! what style!

8. Jerry Maguire - renee and tom so cute. with a look into the life of a sports agent and the brutal truth that its a dog eat dog world out there. but they had me at hello. awww!

7. Batman Begins - i didn't know bruce wayne trained to be a ninja! he is SO much cooler now.

6. Monsters inc. - SULLY AND MIKE WAZOWSKI!! and the hidden world of closet monsters.

5. Zoolander - okok don't run me over just yet. i don't care what anybody says. i loved this movie. i've never LOL-ed so much in a PACKED movie theatre before. i swear. EVERY scene inspired some sort of cackle, giggle, or chuckle from me. i guess you now have a sense of what makes me laugh if you didn't know me. and if you did know me already, then this shouldn't be a surprise :)

4. The Gladiator - Russell Crowe is so sick. I love the man-in-power turned slave who rises back-to-power dealie. It would've been soooo much cooler if he actually got to his armies and brought them back to Rome to take over! it was a bittersweet ending. amazing, but bittersweet.

3. Pirates of the Carribean - never knew i'd like this one as much as i did either, but left the theatre with a feeling of...wow! keira knightley, orlando bloom, johnny depp? sweeet! with hardy-har-har pirates running around on boats with hidden treasure and the reject pirates on the run with curses! joyyy

2. Armageddon - bruce willis was sarcastic. ben affleck was dreamy. liv tyler was to die for. Billy Bob had Angelina! with the cast of reject oil diggers that have gone on to shine in so many other movies. This movie showcased them. (Owen Wilson, the big black guy, the crazy eyed guy, etcetc). With Aerosmith heading up your soundtrack and a fool proof story; this movie was sure to make it!
Made me cry when bruce pushed ben back into the elevator thingy. Reminds me of the love that graces us everyday. And ofcourse, when ben and liv finally see eachother again! just makes me want to kick someone.

1. Lord of the Rings: Fellowship, Two Towers, Return of the King - fantasy movies are so cool. With the anticipation going into each movie, it was an amazing feeling coming out with a sense of expectations surpassed. I loved the first one, even more the second, and EVEN more so the third installment. The 3 movies in one showed the continuity of the story and captivated me each time i saw them. The perserverence and triumph through and at the end of each battle was felt so clearly. I loved how the races banded together at times to face evil. It is a great sight to see when people come to their senses. The horses scene coming "from the east" at the end of two towers gave me such an adrenaline rush, as did the arrival of Rohan at the end of Return of the King at Minas Tirith. The only thing i didnt really like too much was the part where the undead army comes in and overruns everything. That was sooo cheap and such a bail out. I've watched each movie about 11-13 times each. if you would do the math, thats about 4 full days of my life for 3 movies. I enjoyed every second of it.

p.s
worst movie of all time:
KUNG POW - oh dear god. that is all i have to say about this one. i definitely got dumber after watching this.

in awe.

for the first time in my life, i witnessed a car crash
right before my eyes, on davenport and avenue Road
with the traffic beginning to build, air-conditioned and calm
the cab driver man, tense and aggressive

he wants to beat the traffic, and he didn't care to watch
he waves the sunfire off, "let me pass" (to the other side of the road)
zoom zoom zoom, or so he thought. he was almost gone
u-turn to on-coming traffic, not very impressive

the sounds are too real to type, was stilled when all seemed lost
expressions very telling, in the sun's heat, both men felt cold
stupid cab driver, learn to drive, seriously son
air-conditioned and calm, on davenport and avenue road.

rejuvenated

norah jones - don't know why

im so excited.
its church today!!
and then fellowship!!
and then we are sending off our missions team for a week!
then i will eat food!!
then we will hook winstone up with a woman!
i think im more excited than he is.

oh the joy of seeing your friends happy :)

had our annual canada day thingy yesterday.
it was raining when the fireworks blasted up though
and simon got shot in the foot with a firework lolol
stupid kids i told them not to do it in the playground.
all fun and games till someone shoots themselves with a firework

had the randomest worship yesterday that was so good.
milton randomly playing jeffs out of tune guitar
queenie randomly playing jeffs out of tune piano
with random outbursts of mandarine(i like making it sound like a fruit) music with group singing hahah with random vocals from donald, anna, and walter hahah you guys are so good!
TNT?? k my mandarine isnt that good ok DAI TOONG WAH!?!! its the michael wong song!!

the only mandarin lines i know are:
i don't know
what're you doing
i have no money
i am your friend
you are very pretty
i love you

i think i've got the accent down pretty well for those lines.
if you know me you'll prolly know that i randomly outburst with mandarine at any time.

last night reminded me of a thought as i watched the fireworks through the rain from the comfort of jeffs living room couch. we're all like fireworks for god, ready to burst out with energy and fire for god where everyone can see his glory.
we all have so much potential. if only we knew how to unleash it with every person.
utopia?

some people are like those 'roman candles(?)' burst out with power and confidence for god sporadically.

unfortunately, some people are like those one shot dealies. burst out once in a lifetime and then you never see that brilliance again.

even more unfortunate are those people that never get that fire in them. sitting on the floor unused and untapped. they don't see the light of god.

then there are some of us that are those neverending sparklers.
you sparkle and shine and sparkle and shine and sparkle and shine
you are a constant for god and his people.
if you say you know god, then this type of power should show in your life.

august outreach meeting soontime at 8am! should get changed and stuff

DO IT,

payce

squinting.

one of those days.
i sing dixie chicks at the office with one of the middle aged women.
people ask me why im so happy listening to country 95.3 at 7am in the morning
i dont know.
its just funny how things work out sometimes you know
and disappointing how some things dont work out.
and then when im quiet(like most people), people think somethings definitely wrong! i think ive gotten to that point where i have to be unusually talkative and alive. its come to be something that's expected of me. so i push onward, trying to be that constant that people expect. trying to be that breath of fresh air at the end of the week. trying to be me. but if i am trying to be me, then is that really me. not all the time i guess? everyone has those days. yeah i dont understand it much either thats why i have to type it down cause i confuse myself.

i think im needing a breath of fresh air.

squinting from the full day of contacs on the eyes
bittersweet.

squint those eyes and take them off god for one second
then he takes that mozarella stick right off your party platter you pay $15.99 for (plus tax and tip)

'you give and take away
you give and take away'

I saw the sign
and it opened up my eyes
I saw the sign
Life is demanding without understanding
I saw the sign
and it opened up my eyes
I saw the sign.

be bold, dru
