people disappoint. we're human, try as we might - we all fail someone at least sometime.
i don't know if thinking less of people is necessarily the way. people are too willing to miss out on seeing their potential, seeing themselves as God sees them - as they COULD BE in Him...
i dunno.. it can be tough to see people in their potential glory and light, especially since we all suck - but i think the world becomes a sad and dissmal place if you only look at people as how they are or worse. people need others to expect stuff from them and to spur them on;
maybe it can be like playing sports. there's always a chance your team could lose, and everything could go wrong.. balls aren't caught, points aren't scored, teamates don't show... but then you could always win the game, and everyone could play their best, and it could be the best game ever! =) [haha ok you can tell i don't play sports ;)]
either outcome shouldnt detract from your effort or involvement; we cover our side and do our best to ensure a "win" for the Lord, but in the end, we rely on God and rejoice in the Truth.
i know it's easier said than done. keep on brother (in prayer, love + faith) for the Lord!

i don't think God calls us to expect less of people so that it's for your own comfort that you won't feel the unease of being disappointed....rather, he calls us to have an open mind and forgiving heart, that even though you were disappointed, you are able to let it go and say it's okay.
