barf.
i dont understand it.
why was church so dead yesterday? hold up. let me rephrase
why has church been so dead lately? even with august outreach looming ahead?
maybe we, as an english ministry have had it so good for the past 6 years that we really need to hit the wall before we realize that we have a great church and that its worth working for, serving at. The more God seems works in our church, the further we seem to slip away. Maybe we need to endure some hard times before we can shape up.
i have a theory about church. its so sad but i think its so true.
people use church for selfish reasons.
God? no.
its not enough.
why isn't it enough? the Holy Spirit alone should fill us.
ambitious real estate agents, doctors, lawyers, and professionals
can so easily put on a face and use the church.
okay so we're all gona get homes soontime. who are we gona go to?
someone at church right?
we get into trouble with the law, car accidents, whatever. who are we gona go to?
someone at church right?
get sick? need car help? need WHATEVER
its so bs. ofcourse no one says it but i think faith fails many times
people have seemed to all become complacent and lifeless.
people falling away.
people generally not caring anymore.
people encouraging stupidness.
makes me sick to my stomach, seeing people go through
things that they dont need to; making pathetic examples of themselves.
maybe we're just not mature in our faith. maybe we have no faith
maybe we want to have all the fun before we become serious
but no,
I can't say these things right?
how can I point out the splinter in my friends' eyes when there are planks in my own eyes?
I don't know how else to put it,
other than I feel useless if I don't say anything
and I feel like I'm judging too much if I do.
gona go barf now. afk

hey dru-ness
hmm yeah.. I agree overall, but still, there are things to be encouraged about.. like, the fact that our Sunday school number has grown like.. 10x and that even though all people don't come out to prayer meetings, people still come;
but at the same time, I see what you mean about the people who use the church as a connection springboard...
are us older ones a losing generation? I hope not. maybe we need to hit a wall.. I hope not too; but it's that age where ppl are old enough to take their faith seriously if they want to.. needless to say, we gotta keep pushing to get people to face up; God hates the lukewarm right?
I dunno.. it's frustrating.. =p
btw - I've been so happy and encouraged to see your seriousness in seeking the Lord.. mad blessing =) don't know if I've ever told you, but yeah =D
take care and keep on brother!
hey dru,
i don't think i've ever seen this side of you. hahha. :) but indeed, as shelby said, it's mad encouraging. keep going and keep pushing. revival often starts with one or two people, and it only continues on if those people push on..
..so don't be discouraged. it's not from the Lord. see that your battle is not against flesh, but against satan and his evil schemes. so don't be render ineffective by being discouraged:)
rejoice that the Lord is showing you these things; it only means that He wants to do sometime BIG! so start praying..:)
see you on saturday! yeah. softball!
i think sometimes we gotta be careful when we are checking the health of the church. gotta make sure we're measuring with the right scale. personally, yeah its' great to see more PPL in a church, number wise, but it's kinda like one of billy grahm's books "the church has grown to be 28 miles wide and about an inch deep". yeah it's frustrating, i mean i just take a look @ singspiration....man it is NOT inspiring at all. ppl are SO dead! it's like "my sleep is more important than singin my praises to God and worshiping him. God should've made church later and an extra hr in the week." you be a leader and take charge bro, lead teh church ;)
